It’s not a state secret that I’m an adventurous eater; ‘ll try anything once. While attending a cooking demo at the Captain’s Table during my next cruise (a feat I will be saving for-for at least the next two year) is definitely on my to-do-list. If you’re a coupon-clipping, budget conscious, travel enthusiast like me, you’ve earned a few stripes with your ability to have Caviar experiences with a Popcorn Shrimp budget.
So what about when the kids tag along? What about food-budgets in the Happiest Place on Earth–Disney World? While planning that Disney Vacation can be a dream come true–face it, the magic can come with a hefty price tag, especially when it comes to the food. That’s where I come in. I”m not just a travel agent, I’m a certified, bone-a-fied FOODIE! In this guide, I”m serving up the best budget-friendly Disney eats, treats, and sweets that aren’t only delicious and Instagram worthy, but all under $15!! Let’s dive into the tastiest guide to Disney World and Disneyland you’ve ever had!
Sugar High
If you’ve got a sweet-tooth and craving something with that deliciously creaming Hazelnut spread and fresh Summer Berries, Magic Kingdom’s Sleepy Hollow has something that satisfy even the Hangry-iest Sugar Lover. Located just inside the entrance of Liberty Square, this huge waffle, which let’s be honest, is practically it’s own meal, is only $9.49!! Wash it down with a cup of Joffrey’s Coffee French Roast Cold Brew ($5.29) and it’s the perfect pairing.
Not in the mood for sweet? Never fear, Sleepy Hollow has savory waffle options as well. How about a crispy waffle drizzled with a spicy-sweet maple glaze with crispy, or grilled, chicken? How about a take on the classic corn dog with Sleepy Hollow’s Waffle Dog, a classic made Magical with its dip through their famous waffle batter?

Holy Giant Cookie, Batman!
If you haven’t made a special trip to Gideon’s Bakehouse located in Disney Springs, you’re missing out on something spectacular. Each of their cookies is not only homemade, but hand-rolled in whatever magical toppings they’ve imagined. My hands-down-without-a-doubt favorite is the Kris Kringle. A limited-edition white-chocolate chip cookie with notes of caramel, coconut, AND coffee! OH BLISS! Unfortunately, this particular delight is only available during the Christmas Season, however, if you’re in the area after Thanksgiving, swing by The Springs and try one!
Each 1/2 pound cookie (yep…a half-pound cookie guys!) is under $7.00, or if you’re really into living dangerously, you’re allowed 6 per customer max. That’s still almost 3 pounds of cookies! The menu changes weekly, so if you have a favorite flavor in mind, check out their menu and make plans to stop in. In a rush? No problem! Download the Disney App and you can order from your phone! Pick up is a easy as…well picking up. Here’s quick list of this week’s must-eats!
- The OG of cookies-Gideon’s Original Chocolate Chip
- Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip
- Cookies & Cream (REAL OREO PIECES!)
- Peanut-Butter Crunch (think PB cookie on a trip!)
More of a cake fan? Gideon’s also offers cake slices. These aren’t your Tupperware Party size slices either; the slices are bigger than your face! And at only $11 per slice, you get one and feed that whole clan! Raise your hand now if you want cake (or cookies!)🙋♀️

“French” Fries to Die For
What if you’re really just in the mood for something salty, crunch, cheesy, smooth, and dare I say, sinful? Head over to The Daily Poutine, also located in the Disney Springs area, to indulge your senses with these carb-cravings bites of Heaven! With culturally spot-on versions of the classic, you’re sure the find a taste that fits your mood. Inventive creations spotlighting Korean Barbecue, India, and even the American Football-Fan favorite, Buffalo Wings, there’s a Poutine favorite for everyone. And these massive bowls are under $11 each! Definitely worth its weight in Carbs!

The Extra-Ordinary Bites of Epcot
Bigger than a grown man’s head and quiet, possibly the largest pretzel I’ve ever encountered, is the rightfully called Jumbo Pretzel in Epcot’s World Showcase-Sommerfest, Germany! At only $11 for this giant-bread-tastic beast, you’re definitely getting your money worth. Try it out with the beer-cheese, or wash it down with a pint (or mug, or STEIN) of any of Sommerfest’s fine house Brews.
The German’s are no strangers to indulgent fair–have your tried the Brats!? Add a side of the beer cheese for dipping, and you’re quietly literally in hog heaven.
While we are enjoying the European side of Epcot’s World Showcase, why not introduce your LIttlest Taste buds to real-time French Cuisine. Located in the enchanting French Pavilion nestles Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, a really pretty words that roughly translate to, The Bread and Pastry Hall, this is a far cry away from your typical ham and cheese sandwich. In fact, I would wager a bet that there’s nothing “typical” about this vamped up Roule Lard and Fromage (aka-bacon and cheese roll) is what cheesy, bacon dreams are made of. They’re so good, you should just buy two., and at only $8.25, you can!

As I wrap up our little tour of all things yummy, here’s my quick list of Honorable Mentions:
- Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs-up to $9.95
- Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs (Gourmet Corn Dogs?) at Disney’s Boardwalk resort-$15.50 for my favorite, the Mexican Street Dog
- Crepes A Emporter by La Creperie de Paris-Epcot-Whether you’re looking for a sweet treat (Crepes) or savory eat (Galettes) everything is under $13.00! And they’re massive!
- Kabuki Cafe-SNOW CONES with a Japanese twist
No matter how you choose to tantalize your taste buds while roaming Disney World, you’re sure to find something that’s not only delicious, but doesn’t put a dent in your wallet. Disney World proves again and again that you don’t actually need a royal budget to eat like a King.
Whether you’re savoring that jumbo pretzel in EPCOT, diving into a cheeseburger egg role in Magic Kingdom, or cooling off with the classic Dole Whip, budget-friendly Disney eats are full flavor while being mindful of your wallet. I’m here to help you plan a trip that’s magical, memorable, and mindful of your budget. So pack a big appetite, and maybe the Pepto–because the happiest place on Earth doesn’t have to be the most expensive!
